Official Minutes December 14 2009 City Council Meeting

 

Attendance: Mayor Warren Hillukka, Council, John Feldman,  Beverly Burke, Debbie Stanhope, Pat Burton & Greg Wilmer

Absent: Kyle Dorion

Present: Attorney Rob Fleming, Aud. /Adm. Nancy Thompson, Dan Johnson City Engineer

Public Portion: 6:00 pm Nathan Symington here to see if City had come to a decision on city owned property adjacent to his. City attorney is looking into legalities on this matter.

Regular meeting called to order by Mayor Hillukka at 6:05.

1. Changes made to agenda:  Motion by Feldman, second by Burton to accept changes to agenda. Motion carried. Motion by Wilmer second by Burke to approve November minutes with changes under 4.a after”imminent” change to “eminent “Motion carried.

2. City Engineer /Dan Johnson: a) discussed safe route to school grant and what is involved if filling out the form. B) Will look into available funding for city on forced main.

3. City Attorney Update: Nothing at this time.

4. Employee Report: a) In the event that water needs to be turned off at senior center, they will need to turn off at the meter then wrap with heat tape to floor. b) Ambulance will be given a key to the community center kitchen for their stay over part time EMT’s use.

5. Mayor Update:  a) Disused possible options on police contract, council didn’t want to look into any option at this time) Updated council on Monette law suit.

 6.   Aud. /Admin. Update:  a) November Financials reviewed and approved b) December bills reviewed and approved. C). Motion by Feldman second by Burton to have Holiday open house at the city office. Motion carried

7.   Committee Reports: a) Growth – recommend a 14 month no interest loan to Susan Curtiss for startup cost of beauty salon .Committees recommendation is the motion second by Wilmer. Motion carried b) Valley landfill wants city to pay for the waste management paper & cardboard recycling bins. Motion by Feldman second by Burton to pay for waste management paper & cardboard recycling bins by increasing recycling a $1.25 a month. Motion carried.

The increase will be seen on Decembers utility billing.

8. New Issues: a) c Wilmer brought up that Organizations in town need to fill out applications for gaming funds, and then they may receive money from that gaming site.

9.  Motion to adjourn by Burke at 7:30 p.m.
