Public Hearing Called to order at 7:01 by Mayor Hillukka.
- R. & P. Monette appeared to complain about the weeds on a vacant property next door. Cockleburs are 6 feet high, and the patch is the size of a garden. City will publish the notice as required by the ordinance, and abate the nuisance.
- Volk – presented findings of water/sewer rate review. Determined at least an 11% increase necessary overall.
Regular meeting called to order @ 8:25.
1. Changes made to agenda – Add Professional Building and request for street closure for rodeo dance.
2. Motion by Feldman, second by Dorion to approve June 11 minutes as printed. Motion carried unanimously.
3. City Attorney Update: Nothing new on GSA water contract or Golf Course.
4. Employee Report: a) Goals/priorities reviewed. b) All flood gates now open.
5. Mayoral Update: a) Community Center – USDA loan application looking for more information on sales tax commitments and revenues. b) Mayor read resignation letter of Senum. Motion by Feldman, second by Dorion to accept this resignation. Council approved unanimously.
c) A Water/Sewer committee meeting will be held to discuss the NDRSWA findings and make recommendations.
6. Aud./Admin. Update: a) June financials reviewed and approved. b) July bills reviewed and approved. c) Budget to Actual reviewed.
7. Committee Reports: a) Recreation – Requested street closure in S. Pembina for Rodeo street dance Aug. 11. Motion by Feldman, second by Dorion to approve closure from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Motion carried unanimously.
b) Landfill – met in Hallock and toured facility. They would like to serve NE quarter of ND. Waste management will be requesting use of Joliette site for yard waste.
