Minutes of Feb. 12, 2007 City Council Meeting

Attendance: Council: Beverly Burke, Richard Senum, Debbie Stanhope, John Feldman, Nancy Thompson. Absent: Mayor Warren Hillukka, Kyle Dorion

Present: Engineer Dan Johnson, Aud./Adm. Kathy Johnson, Attorney Neil Fleming

Others Present: Ken Norby, George Christensen, Brett Crotty.

Public Hearing called to order at 7:00 p.m., by Council President Feldman.

· O’Haras did not appear. Issue tabled.

· Christensen and Crotty appeared on behalf of the LaMoure Memorial Golf Club. Their interest in having the city purchase the golf club house was affirmed, and terms of a lease were discussed but not finalized.

Regular Meeting called to order at 7:59.

1. Changes made to agenda – Add snow cats chewing up sidewalk, and Growth Committee.

2. Motion by Thompson, second by Stanhope to approve Jan. 8 minutes as printed. Motion carried unanimously.

3. City Attorney Update: a) Liquor ordinances – possibilities discussed. b) Border water contract reply reviewed. Will set up a face-to-face meeting for April. c) Playground issue – referred to Attorney d) Dike lawsuit – will need to supply additional information.

4. Employee Report: a) Goals/priorities reviewed.

5. Mayoral Update: a) Community Center –bid letting set for Wed. Feb. 21; will call special meeting to open bids. b) No action on correspondence.

6. Aud./Admin. Update: a) Jan. financials reviewed and approved. b) Year End Summary financial report reviewed. c) Feb. bills reviewed and approved. c) Reviewed training schedule and equipment schedule.

d) Motion by Senum, second by Thompson, to replace the blade with equipment which is easier to operate before the fall of 2007. Motion carried unanimously.

7. Committee Reports: Water/sewer/streets – border contract meeting held. Dan Johnson stated there is a new grant available for sidewalks – he will find more information on this.

8. New Issues – Snowcats: are chewing up sidewalk between Spot & Corner. A barrier will be erected.

9. Motion to adjourn by Burke at 9:30 p.m.
