Council Members Present: Mayor Helland, Snitker, T Steyn, Flores, Carpenter, Carattini

                        Absent: Needham

Guests present: Stoiber, City Auditor; R Fleming, City Attorney

                        Absent: Koropatnicki

Special Council Meeting public portion called to order at 5pm by Mayor Helland.

No public to offer comment, public portion closed at 5pm by Mayor Helland.

Special Council Meeting called to order at 5pm by Mayor Helland.

 

·         Discussion on City being asked to supplement organizations that don’t do much fundraising on their own: Library, Rec Board, Cemetery

·         Discussion on what mills/levies can be changed and should they be

·         Snitker reiterated that reducing the General Fund is not an option as the City has to be able to function, prices of everything are going up, and the Stutsman Bridge issues; in the future the Rec Board, Library, and Cemetery should be encouraged to attend the budget meetings to state their cases and show what they’ve done for fund raising

·         Motion by Snitker, 2^nd by Carattini to approve the final budget numbers as presented by City Auditor except reduce the Library mills to zero, and certify the levies to the County as follows: General Fund $183,664.09; Emergency Fund $4825.04; Library Fund $0; cemetery Fund $3860.03; Rec Board $4825.04; and Capital Projects $19,300.15 for a total levy of $216,474.34. Role call vote—Ayes: T Steyn, Carpenter, Flores, Snitker, Sherri; motion carries.
