 Priority is given to individuals with medical appointments and individuals with disabilities. Passengers with medical appointments are given priority for pick up and drop off times. The driver will determine the best use of time for other pick up and drop off times.

 

Be ready 15 minutes before your designated pick up time--vehicle may arrive anytime between 15 minutes before or after your scheduled pick up time. Upon arrival, driver will sound the horn, then wait 5 minutes for you to appear. If you don't appear, the driver can leave and it will be considered a no show, and the next time you ride, you will be required to pay a fare for the previous no show as well as the current ride. Continuous violations of the no show policy may result in future service being denied.

 

All Vehicles are ADA accessible and equipped with wheelchair ramps. 

 

Transportation is available for medical appointments, shopping, banking, hair appointments, visiting, dining, social outings, children's activities, work and other transit needs.

 

House of service are 8:00am to 5:00pm Mon-Fri; no transportation services on federal holidays. 

 

Pembina County Public Transportation
The Pembina County 14 passenger bus is equipped with a wheelchair lift. There are also minivans available.

Transportation Schedule - Pembina Area:
To Grand Forks: Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays $15

To Cavalier: Monday through Thursday $7

Other destinations by special arrangements for medical appointments:

Grafton $10; Park River $10; Langdon $10; Fargo $60

Fares for rides to place of employment will be determined on an individual basis based on miles to worksite.

Please have exact fare ready when you board transit vehicle; drivers don't carry change.

Transportation services are available to all residents of Pembina County, regardless of age.

Senior Citizens Meal Program:

Pembina County Meals & Transportation provides senior meals for those 60 and older, and their spouses in Drayton, Cavalier and Walhalla. Home Delivered Meals are available in these towns to those who are homebound or recovering from an illness or surgery. A home visit from the Home Delivered Meal Manager is required to receive Home Delivered Meals. Home delivered meals are hot meals that consist of an entree of meat, potato and vegetable or a casserole and vegetable. Milk, bread, margarine and fruit are also provided. The meals are available in Drayton, Cavalier, and Walhalla, and are delivered Monday-Friday.

Meals are provided to persons aged 60 and over and their spouses (regardless of age). Individuals under age 60 must pay full price of the service ($7.50/meal) unless they are a volunteer during meal services or they have a disability and reside with an eligible client in a non-institutional household. Congregate meal participants aren't allowed to pickup hot meals to eat at home. 

Flash Frozen Home Delivered Meals are available for eligible clients who live in rural areas or in towns without a meal site. Meals consist of an entree of meat, potato and vegetable or a casserole and vegetable. Milk, bread, margarine and fruit are also provided. Frozen meals are prepped daily at the Drayton Senior Citizen Center. Frozen meals can be delivered to your home monthly Receive as many meals as you would like for one month. A home visit from the Home Delivered Meal Manager is also required to receive Flash Frozen meals. Call 701.454.6586 for more information on senior meals. 

For those living in Drayton, Cavalier, and Wahalla, there are also Congregate Meals, where meals are eaten in a group setting. Meals consist of an entree of meat, potato and vegetable or a casserole and vegetable. Milk, bread, margarine and fruit are also provided. Congregate meals are available Mon-Fri at the Drayton Senior Citizen Center, Thompson's Cafe in Cavalier, and J&E Bakery & Cafe in Walhalla.

Individuals participating in the Senior Citizen Meal Program are asked to donate $4/meal, however no one aged 60 and older will be denied a meal because of inability to pay the full cost of the meal.
